REVIEWING SAGAS: BLACKADDER

Blackadder is a family saga, chronicling the lives of four descendants of the same dynasty in the Middle Ages, Tudor era (sixteenth century), Regency (late eighteenth century), and Great War (WW1: 1914-18). Each of the four story arcs revolves around the Edmund Blackadder of that period in question, in chronological order.
All of them, beside sharing the same name and elevated social standing, prove rather devious and unpredictable tricksters, who enjoy the finer things in life without not lusting for power. Aside from teaching countless historical facts in the guise of typically British comedy.

Black AAAAdder, Black AAAAdder, he rides a pitch black steeeeeeeeed!

Rating: four stars ****
